Welcome to the MMUUSD Early Childhood Program!

MMUUSD believes that investing in early childhood education can positively shape a child's future success. Advances in brain research provide great insight into how the brain continues to develop after birth and how a child's early experiences can impact development in areas such as social/emotional, language, and motor development.

A play-based learning environment is the foundation of our early childhood curriculum. Play provides context to make sense of a child's social world as they actively engage with people, objects, and experiences. Experiences through play happen through an intentionally planned environment that nurtures all areas of development and fosters curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration, and creativity.

Our preschool teachers use The Vermont Early Learning Standards and Teaching Strategies Gold as a guide to nurture children’s learning.

Preschool registration will be open February 11–18.

Families should plan to register their child during this window as usual.
